Mr. Swabergers: Making the Burger Hype More Exciting with Fancy Colored Burgers

There is no doubt, we live in a society where instant, create-your-down and do-it-yourself seems on the verge of popularity nowadays - whether pizza, ice cream or cake it may be, burgers are undoubtedly on top of the list. One can easily recall Zarks or the Brgr Project and many more for their flagship of  create-your-own burgers. Then there's this colored burger that entered the picture. Wait, colored burgers?

I am dedicating this post to the burger lovers out there. Especially to ehem.. Jossan. Earlier this morning, as I was on my phone checking Facebook, my mom told me about this colored burger she watched on TV. She can't barely remember what was the name of the store but it was along Caloocan. I immediately searched it online until I discovered "Mr. Swabergers". It was featured on TV5 Morning Show this week. Watch the feature here. And so I did not make second-guesses, I invited my mom that we should give it a try.

Mr. Swabergers is located along Sangandaan in Caloocan. We got lost on our way because we did not know there is also Sangandaan in Quezon City. And we went there. It took us 2 exhausting hours to get to the store. So for those who were planning to pay a visit, it was in Sangandaan in Caloocan.

The store is like a  mini burger house filled with 8-10 chairs and one long table. There were 3 cooks, including the one who is (I think) is managing the store and a cashier. Since their burgers are made-to-order and the arrivals of the customers were non-stop, we waited for almost 30 minutes for our orders to arrive.

They have the create-your-own burger but there are also burger choices prepared that you can still customize depending on the color of the bun you like. Choices of colored buns will add 5 pesos from the original price of the burger you ordered.

I believe there are lots of room for improvement for them so I am getting all my hopes up. Recommendations? I believe they were just starting, so try to spread awareness of their store thru social media or either by word of mouth. Provide more chairs and tables for dining also. I believe customers would want to spend quality time eating their burgers with the convenience of seats. Store owner/manager told us that they will have a store in Road 8 in QC opening next month and we can't wait to visit it soon.

Of Kariman and Uncle John's Fried Chicken

Mini Stop has been known for their signature kariman – with various of special fillings on it inside. I admit I haven’t tried one but I finally did a while ago. :) I believe Kariman is sort of a Japanese food since the convenience store originated in Japan. Relatively, it was a cross between a meat bun and a fried sandwich, according to Sybdive  It contains fillings (whether sweet or savory) stuffed into a piece of yeast dough, sealed, dipped in egg wash, rolled in   panko , and deep-fried till the outside is golden brown and crunchy to the bite. Going back, upon buying Uncle John’s fried chicken meal for my lunch, (which for me is worth-the-buy because of the generous size of the chicken and comparing to other stores offering  the same type of meal, I believe it can be included on your choice) I decided to have Cookie Karamel Kariman since it was only ten pesos. Surprisingly, it was delicious. It tastes like cookie butter with...

Welcome to Sisig Society

Sisig Society is one of those promising restaurants along Eastwood that offers their specialty make-your-own-sisig at an affordable price. Jossan's been a sucker forthis type of food so we tried it out soon as I learned about this. Jossan tried the Crispy Sisig. It comes with a cup of rice and is priced at PhP 149. According to him, it lacks flavor. Flavor in the sense of it's strong taste (just like what other sisig tastes like) On the other hand, I wanted to try something unique so I ordered the Sisig Pasta and it's the bomb! It was around their Snacks corner alongside with Sisig Nachos anf Tacos and I find those really appetizing. Mos of their snacks only cost PhP 99. I also tried this Eyes Scramble for PhP 59. Literall with eyes on it! Don' worry tho, it's just a candy. Hehe. Overall, I' m satisfied with Sisig Society.
